DemoDirge: Dark Money & Power Lamentations on the Demolition of Global Democracies
Demodirge documents all of the chess moves by the Right, that seem lost on the Left, playing tiddlywinks. It’s time to stop our decades-long slide into authoritarian fascism.
Welcome to Demodirge, a running history of the dismantling of democracy, written by me, Brian M.Ross. Not the ABC News pariah. I’m the itinerant political blogger, formerly of the Huffington Post ghetto of the informed, Truth-2-Power.com, and the Daily Kos. Currently wandering the digital desert. Satirist, futurist, filmmaker, aaaaaand, in I’m also in charge of the sheep dip!
(Monty Python homage. Ask your parents, or grandparents, kids.)
Past is prologue. We’re also doomed to live it, if we don’t learn from it. I’ve been documenting our drift from democracy, to autocratic fascism, since 2009. I’ve been early to the party, on pretty much everything. The GOP “Civil War,” that the mainstream media told you started around 2019? In 2012, behind closed doors, the purges were beginning.
I wrote, from about 2009 to 2018, for the Huffington Post. What they didn’t publish, I put out on my own blog, Truth-2-Power.com. All 283 stories have now migrated over to DemoDirge. Some HuffPost stories are here, and more will be coming. I also wrote extensively for Daily Kos. Those articles will become part of the paid library.
My father always told me that if you have nothing to say, shut up. So I did, for the Biden years, 2020-2024. It was my hope, dream, prayer that we could become constitutionally cancer-free.
That did not happen. Instead, millions of Americans voted in someone who shouldn’t be allowed to run a periodically bankrupt real estate business, let alone the greatest country, in the free world.
So, I’m baaaack. I’ll be unearthing the dark money crud, that creates the myths, er, NEWS, that become unwise common wisdoms.
As journalism devolves from gritty newsrooms, to the digital agora, writers like me can surely use your support of our work.
